“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15 ESV
If it sounds good, that doesn’t mean it is good. Be diligent. Everyone respected and accepted the Pharisees; they were the leaders of the faith, yet Christ explicitly made a case for their failure of faith and leadership.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Matthew 23:27-28 ESV
Be careful. Like vultures to the dead, people will come for power yet claim honorable intentions.
Do not think those whom we love and respect cannot fall into the trap of sin and a lust for power and wealth.
